Dr. Joel Wallach addressed the human body's ability to achieve healing through natural remedies and supplements that aid in the body's recovery from chronic conditions. He emphasized the importance of avoiding unhealthy foods (which include fried foods and processed meats) and taking nutrients that support the immune system. Regarding recent reports that taking too much vitamin D can be detrimental, he acknowledged that while supplements are vital to one's health, there is a balance in taking the right amount of them. "Diseases are not genetic in any way, shape, or form. They're simple nutritional deficiencies," he declared.

An example of this, he continued, is osteoporosis, which he said is caused by a deficiency of calcium and vitamin D3 and other minerals like copper. The condition of tinnitus (ringing in the ears) is a form of osteoporosis, said Wallach, and it's caused by the skull squeezing the cranial nerves. Disorders like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and MS involve issues or deficiencies with myelin (sheath around nerve fibers in the brain and spinal cord). Myelin is made from cholesterol, and the increase of people taking cholesterol-lowering drugs in recent decades is correlated to the rise of these types of diseases, he argued.
