Dr. Joel Wallach

Hour 1

Hour 2

Dr. Joel Wallach discussed how to benefit from natural healing and diet without using modern medicine. Diseases and ailments are often related to deficiencies in various nutrients and minerals, he contends. Recently, the World Health Organization said that eating processed meats like deli slices and bacon increases your risk of cancer at the same rate as smoking, or working in an asbestos environment does, "and I said that since '71, and everybody laughed at me," he recalled. "When you cook your meat well done, it increases the risk of breast cancer for ladies by 462%," he added.

Distilled water is good because it's clean but it does pull minerals out of your body, he noted. What he suggests is adding 1 ounce of organic plant minerals (a colloid solution) into each quart of distilled water. Wallach also recommended Quanta water-- a structured water that lowers the surface tension of your intestine so that you can absorb more nutrients. He also commented on medical marijuana-- it does have omega 3 fatty acids in it that can reduce inflammation and reduce risk of blood clots, he cited.

Ben Fuchs

Hour 2

Registered pharmacist Ben Fuchs discussed the latest in health information and natural approaches. Speaking of Thanksgiving, he spoke about gratitude as an important part of the spiritual, mental, and emotional strategies that can keep a person healthy. He also cited how relaxation (through simple things like taking a hot bath, or deep breathing) can improve one's skin and stimulate collagen production. "We have a high tech society, where we think it's about surgery, we think it's about...being medicated when it comes to health. Well, what has that gotten us? We've got hundreds of millions of people who are sick," he lamented.

Fuchs maintains that all diseases stem from a fouled bloodstream that is caused by substances that come in through the digestive tract, as well as nutritional deficiencies. A good supplement program can help counteract this, he said. Many diseases, he continued, are partially related to deficiencies in the B vitamins and he recommended taking them in liquid form which can be accessed more readily into the body. Type 2 Diabetes affects millions of Americans, and is a progressive disease that relates to how people process sugar, which includes starches such as bread. Fuchs suggested people "re-sensitize their sweet button" so they can consume less sugar and still be satisfied.

Dr. Joel Wallach discussed the body and its ability to benefit from natural healing without using modern medicine. Diseases and ailments are often related to deficiencies in various nutrients and minerals, he contends. For millennia, humans unknowingly enhanced their diet with minerals by putting wood ashes from fireplaces into their gardens. However, with the advent of electricity, the population largely stopped burning wood, and now have many more health problems because of the lack of these minerals, he stated.

Wallach declared that people can remain in optimal condition by giving the body everything it needs nutrition-wise, as well as avoiding certain dietary items like processed meats, and fried foods. Discussing the condition of gout, he said that it stems from an enzyme/metabolism problem in the liver and suggested that sufferers avoid eating items that make uric acid, including shellfish, legumes (peas/beans), and organ meats.

Dr. Peter Glidden

Hour 1

Hour 2

Dr. Peter Glidden, a naturopathic physician and lecturer, discussed the body and its ability to benefit from natural healing instead of modern medicine. He detailed various natural remedies and supplements that can aid in the body's recovery of many ailments that affect us today. We don't have a free medical market in the United States-- your medical doctor may be a good person but they only know what they've been trained in, which is just one piece of the health puzzle, he asserted. "We have become...socialized into believing that the medical doctor owns the secret decoder ring to all things medical and everybody else practices substandard alternative back-of-the-bus medicine," which is just nonsense, he continued.

He listed a number of foods to stop eating, including grains such as wheat, barley, rye, and oats (which contain gluten), all bottled oils, fried foods, well-done meats, and carbonated beverages with a meal (the carbon dioxide interferes with digestion). He commended a caller who ate a vegan diet, yet cautioned him that he still needs to get mineral supplementation, as the soil where the produce is grown doesn't contain all the necessary nutrients. Glidden connected the problem of obesity to people eating foods with low nutritive quality, and thus they keep eating more, trying in vain to get what the body needs.

Dr. Joel Wallach discussed various ailments of the body and the ability to use natural healing without relying on modern medicine. He cited the benefits of natural remedies that aid in the recovery of many diseases that affect us today. If you're missing essential nutrients or not getting the minimum daily requirement, "your body chemistry doesn't work, and so suddenly you start getting symptoms-- you have fatigue, you have no energy, you're not able to function properly when it comes to making decisions...all these things are going wrong," he detailed.

Regarding the problem of chronic migraine headaches, one of the quickest ways to eliminate them is to get on a gluten-free diet, he suggested. Speaking about tinnitus or the ringing of the ear, he related it to a kind of osteoporosis in an area in the skull and inflammation of a cranial nerve. For Lyme disease, legitimate cases are curable within two weeks with antibiotics, but what people call "chronic Lyme disease" is actually gluten intolerance, he stated.
